Lubec Bay Cottage is a classic Maine seaside cottage with fabulous Bay views, surrounded by 3 Oceanside acres of lush meadows and blueberry fields in a quiet, rural setting, You'll enjoy strolling down our Boardwalk to our private Shoreside sitting area that is adjacent to the renowned Lubec Sand Bar Birding Area. This charming cottage is beautifully furnished and has all the comforts of home. The Master bedroom with antique double bed opens to a large Balcony where you can enjoy the ocean views while savoring your morning coffee. Our Guest bedroom with two antique twin beds has beautiful bay and flowering garden views. Our spacious deck has areas where you can grill, dine, relax on a swing, or gather around a cozy fireplace. Close enough for walking to South Lubec beach, our Cottage is less than 2 miles from West Quoddy State Park with Lighthouse and 4 miles from town and Campobello Island.
The Lubec area offers a multitude of activities, which could include birding and Puffin Tours, hiking, whale-watching, kayaking, bicycling, beachcombing, water-taxiing to Eastport, and Geocaching to over 221 caches in Lubec and the surrounding areas! During migrations, whales are sighted off West Quoddy, just down the road, or off East Quoddy on Campobello Island, just 4 miles away. Seals are seen feeding in Lubec Channel. There are nearby state parks, lighthouses, nature preserves, and art galleries that you can visit. The Lubec Historical Society, McCurdy's Smokehouse and Roosevelt International Park showcase the local history. The Sand Bar Wildlife Management Area that is adjacent to the property is known for its migrating birds. Campobello Island, CAN has a scenic golf course. There are Summerkeys music concerts downtown, two chocolatier shops, a wharf for purchasing local seafood, and a great variety of restaurants for eat-in or take out.
